That’s right folks! Today I put myself down in the books as an event participant for the largest number of people jumping on a trampoline at the same time for over five minutes. *big smile*
The event was put on by Pure Health Clubs and was held at the end of Queen Street Mall (across from the Treasury Casino) to benefit the Asthma Foundation of Queensland.
It was loads of fun to jump around, but it was a lot harder than I had expected! I thought we were just going to be silly and jump around for a while, but it was a full on workout and by the end I was sweating like a pig on fire. Sam and Cassie loved it so much that they’re going to start going to the Pure Health Club near the Wicked Campers headquarters after work. Ehon took some time off work to join in as well, and Simon took the whole day off (it’s also his birthday – HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIMON!!) to spend time jumping with his Dad. Good fun and a great way to end my stay in Brisbane. I’ll be leaving for Vancouver tomorrow morning.
PS If you’re in Brisbane, watch the news tonight (any channel – they were all there). We were jumping right in front of the cameras so you should be able to catch us in action.
UPDATE (written October 7): My sister found a video online of the trampolining! I’m in the front row to the left of Sam who’s wearing her Wicked shirt.

If I were in Brisbane, I would break into your hostel and steal your passport. I am seriously gutted that you haven’t gone to Sydney or anywhere else in Australia. You haven’t even left Queensland!
Promise me you’ll return and check out a different state within the next 18 months. Book your ticket now!
PS It would be like going to Canada and never leaving Saskatchewan!
Jumpin like a kangaroo!
Dont worry Caitlin – I think she will be back – she has that Aussie spirit! :O
LMAO Sorry Caitlin!!
I had planned on at least going to Sydney and even considered just going for a couple of days this week before leaving, but with the sandstorms it didn’t seem like a good idea. One day I will come back to explore NSW. I can’t promise it’ll be in the next 18 months though quite simply because I don’t have the money. :S I want to save up and come back when I can just enjoy the travelling and not have to worry about working at the same time.
PS I’m not sure you can compare Queensland to Saskatchewan.
I’m pretty sure there’s a lot more to do in QLD.
My favourite place in Australia is Tasmania. Plus no trip is complete without a visit to the Red Centre.
Thanks for the link to my video! Really cool that you managed to find it!
I’ve just uploaded my photos from the day to http://www.flickr.com/photos/matt-heikkila/sets/72157622590280710/
Thanks for the link Matt!
